The Penguins are expected to start goaltender Tristan Jarry for Saturday’s home game against the New York Rangers at PPG Paints Arena.
His status was announced via a statement by the team this afternoon.
Appearing in 42 games this season — third-most in the NHL — Jarry has a 25-11-6 record, a 2.38 goals against average, a .919 save percentage and three shutouts.
In eight career games against the Rangers, Jarry has a 5-2-0 record, a 2.99 goals against average and .896 save percentage.
Notes:
• The Rangers are slated to start goaltender Igor Shesterkin. In 33 games this season, Shesterkin has a 25-5-3 record, a 1.98 goals against average, a .940 save percentage and three shutouts.
• Saturday’s game will be carried by ABC. As a result, the contest, which has been advertised to begin at 3 p.m., will not actually begin until 3:14 p.m.
