Over the final two periods, DeSmith made 19 saves on 20 shots in that contest.

Jarry remains sidelined due to an undisclosed ailment and has been labeled as “day to day.” According to coach Mike Sullivan, Jarry has accompanied the team on it’s current six-game road trip.

In 25 games this season, Jarry has a 15-8-2 record along with a 2.79 goals against average and a .910 save percentage.

• Per Sullivan, forward Teddy Blueger will remain sidelined. He has missed the past eight games due to an undisclosed ailment. In 28 games this season, Blueger has 15 points (four goals, 11 assists). He is also designated to injured reserve.

• The Penguins have lost 10 consecutive games in Boston (0-9-1). Their last road victory against the Bruins was a 3-2 overtime victory on Nov. 24, 2014 under then coach Mike Johnston.

• The Bruins are scheduled to start rookie goaltender Dan Vladar. In two games this season, he has a 2-0-0 record along with a 1.50 goals against average and a .952 save percentage.
