The Penguins have brought back back the “big screen” for outdoor viewing of home games in their first-round series against the New York Rangers.
Because of the pandemic, such public gatherings had been on hiatus for the past two postseasons.
For this round, the screen will be located on the corner of Centre Avenue and Logan Street, directly across from PPG Paints Arena. Logan Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between Centre and Wylie Avenue for home games.
The Penguins initially introduced an outdoor screen for playoff games beginning in 2007, and the event became a staple of the team’s postseason runs for the past decade and a half.
There was no word yet on plans to continue these public viewing parties should the Penguins advance.
Follow the Penguins all season long.
