Penguins terminate loan agreement for prospect Cam Lee with HC Slovan Bratislava
Pittsburgh Penguins defensive prospect Cam Lee had his loan agreement with HC Slovan Bratislava of the Slovakian Extraliga terminated Monday.
According to HC Slovan Bratislava, Lee is returning to North America and traveling to Pittsburgh in order to quarantine for a training camp by the end of December.
With most leagues in North America on hiatus this fall because of the coronavirus pandemic, many NHL teams have loaned prospects to teams in Europe to further their development. The Penguins loaned Lee to Bratislava on Oct. 21. In 14 games this season, Lee has 11 points (two goals, nine assists).
The Penguins signed the undrafted Lee on March 17 after his senior NCAA season at Western Michigan was cut short in March because of the pandemic.
The NHL has yet to announce a date to open the 2020-21 season, but the league is reported to be targeting mid-January.
