Forward Blake Lizotte likely will provide help on the Penguins’ penalty kill.

Pittsburgh Penguins president of hockey operations/general manager Kyle Dubas met with members of the media Monday afternoon in Cranberry and discussed a variety of matters pertinent to the club and the start to NHL free agency.

During his Q&A, Dubas revealed the Penguins had come to terms with former Los Angeles Kings forward Blake Lizotte, who joins the Penguins on a two-year deal through 2025-26 worth $1.85 million annually.

Lizotte, 26, has spent his entire six-year NHL career with the Kings and was an undrafted free agent signing by them in 2019 out of St. Cloud State.

Last season, he appeared in 62 games, chipping in seven goals and eight assists.

In 2022-23, he had a career season, contributing 11 goals and 23 assists (both career-bests) for 34 points.

The 5-foot-9 left-handed shot averaged 11 minutes, 49 seconds of ice time with Los Angeles last year, 1:42 of which came short-handed.

Presumably, he’ll offer the Penguins bottom-six depth in addition to a helping hand on the penalty kill.
