The Pittsburgh Penguins are going heavy on goaltenders with their early picks in the NHL Draft.
After selecting Finnish-born Joel Blomqvist in the second round, the team chose Calle Clang, a native of Olofstrom, Sweden, in the third round with the No. 77 overall pick.
Clang, 18, spent most of the 2019-20 season with Rogle BK of Sweden’s SuperElit junior league. In 34 games, the left-catching Clang (6-foot-2, 194 pounds) had a 2.64 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage.
Follow the Penguins all season long.
