Penguins forward Brandon Tanev remains out against Devils

In 30 games this season, Penguins forward Brandon Tanev has 15 points (seven goals, eight assists).

Penguins forward Brandon Tanev will miss his second consecutive game due to an undisclosed injury when his team hosts the New Jersey Devils at PPG Paints Arena on Sunday.

In a statement issued Sunday morning, the team labeled him as a “game-time decision.

Tanev participated in warmups prior to Saturday’s 3-1 road win against the New Jersey Devils but was scratched due to an undisclosed injury. It is not clear if Tanev was injured during warmups or had a preexisting ailment.

In 30 games this season, Tanev has 15 points (seven goals, eight assists).

With Tanev scratched Saturday, forwards Jake Guentzel and Bryan Rust are the only members of the Penguins who have played in all 31 of the team’s games this season.

Notes:

• The Penguins are scheduled to start goaltender Tristan Jarry. In 21 games this season, he has a 12-8-1 record, along with a 2.90 goals against average and a .907 save percentage.

• Forward Jason Zucker skated Sunday morning. He has missed 14 games due to a suspected left leg injury and is currently on long-term injured reserve.

The Devils are scheduled to start goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood. In 15 games this season, he has a 6-8-1 recorda long with a 3.05 goals against average and a .903 save percentage.
