Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry is expected to start Tuesday’s home game against the Buffalo Sabres at PPG Paints Arena.

Notes:

• Based on Tuesday’s morning skate, it appears forward Dominik Simon is expected to replace forward Brian Boyle in the lineup.

Simon has been a healthy scratch for the past five games. In the eight contests he has played this season, Simon has four points (one goal, three assists).

Having played in all 14 games of the season to this point, Boyle has two goals.

• The Penguins’ lines and pairings during the morning skate were:

59 Jake Guentzel – 87 Sidney Crosby – 17 Bryan Rust

16 Jason Zucker – 77 Jeff Carter – 42 Kasperi Kapanen

43 Danton Heinen – 9 Evan Rodrigues - 49 Dominik Simon

12 Zach Aston-Reese – 53 Teddy Blueger – 23 Brock McGinn

8 Brian Dumoulin- 58 Kris Letang

28 Marcus Pettersson- 6 John Marino

5 Mike Matheson – 2 Chad Ruhwedel

• The top power-play unit included Carter, Crosby, Guentzel, Letang and Rust. The second power-play unit involved Heinen, Kapanen, Marino, Rodrigues and Marino.

• The Penguins have not scored a power-play goal in their past eight games. They are 0 for 25 over that span.

• Coach Mike Sullivan indicated he will not be eligible to participate in Thursday’s road game against the Montreal Canadiens due to Canada’s laws that forbid individuals who have recently tested positive for covid-19 from entering the country within 14 days of their most recent positive test for the virus.

According to Sullivan, Crosby and Dumoulin will be eligible for that game following their recent bouts with the virus.

• The Sabres’ lines and pairs during their morning skate were:

53 Jeff Skinner – 72 Tage Thompson – 74 Rasmus Asplund

91 Drake Caggiula – 24 Dylan Cozens – 29 Vinnie Hinostroza

57 Brett Murray – 20 Cody Eakin – 21 Kyle Okposo

96 Anders Bjork – 25 Arttu Ruotsalainen – 15 John Hayden

26 Rasmus Dahlin – 13 Mark Pysyk

78 Jacob Bryson – 33 Colin Miller

4 Will Butcher – 8 Robert Hagg

• Sabres forward Zemgus Girgensons is expected to play despite being absent from the morning skate.

• Former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins goaltender Dustin Tokarski is scheduled to be in net for the Sabres. In seven game this season, Tokarski has a 2-3-2 record along with a 2.95 goals against average and a .908 save percentage.
