Penguins defenseman Mark Friedman fined for spearing
Penguins defenseman Mark Freidman has been fined by the NHL $1,812.50 for spearing Columbus Blue Jackets forward Sean Kuraly.
During the Penguins’ 4-3 road win at Nationwide Arena on Saturday, Friedman struck Kuraly with his stick at 9:47 of the first period. Friedman was assessed a major penalty and a game misconduct for the infraction.
All fine money goes to the NHL’s Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
