In 10 games this season, Penguins defenseman John Marino has one assist.

Penguins defenseman John Marino participated in practice on Friday in Cranberry. After being absent from Thursday’s practice, Marino rejoined his teammates, two days removed from being placed on the NHL’s list of absences for covid-19 related protocol on Wednesday.

Inclusion on that list — which is updated daily by the NHL — indicates players may not play or practice with their teammates.

On Friday evening, Marino was formally removed from the list.

As dictated by NHL rules, the Penguins have not provided any comment on Marino’s status.

The only member of the team’s defense who has played in all 10 games this season, Marino has one assist.
