Penguins CEO/president David Morehouse undergoes heart procedure
Penguins president and CEO David Morehouse underwent a scheduled heart procedure Wednesday at UPMC Presbyterian.
The team issued a statement on Friday indicating Morehouse, 61, “is resting comfortably and is expected to make a full recovery and resume work prior to the start of the 2021-22 regular season.”
The Beechview native has a history of ailments related to his heart. In 2009, Morehouse suffered a heart attack in San Jose while accompanying the team on a road trip on the West Coast.
That was followed up in 2015 when Morehouse underwent heart valve repair.
Morehouse initially joined the Penguins as a consultant in 2004 before being named president in 2007. He took on CEO duties in 2010.
