For their first three preseason games, the Pittsburgh Penguins leaned heavily on young prospects and players fighting for a post-training camp roster spot.
Thursday evening, when the Penguins play host to Buffalo at 7 p.m., will be a different story.
Wednesday afternoon, the club released its lineup for the contest, which far more closely resembles the eventual group of players who will be suiting up Oct. 10 for the regular-season opener against Chicago.
Slated to take the ice at PPG Paints Arena against the Sabres are:
Forwards — Drew O’Connor, Alex Nylander, Bryan Rust, Reilly Smith, Lars Eller, Austin Wagner, Noel Acciari, Radim Zohorna, Rickard Rakell, Evgeni Malkin, Jeff Carter, Matt Nieto, Sidney Crosby.
Defensemen — Chad Ruhwedel, Ryan Shea, Ryan Graves, Marcus Pettersson, Mark Friedman, Kris Letang, Erik Karlsson, P.O Joseph.
Goaltenders — Tristan Jarry, Alex Nedeljkovic.
