Panthers trade Upper St. Clair native Vincent Trocheck to Hurricanes

The Florida Panthers traded forward Vincent Trocheck, a native of Upper St. Clair, to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday.

The Florida Panthers traded forward Vincent Trocheck, a native of Upper. St. Clair, to the Carolina Hurricanes on Monday, a few hours before the NHL’s trade deadline of 3 p.m.

A third-round pick of the Panthers in 2011, Trocheck, 26, has spent his entire seven-year NHL career with Florida.

In 55 games this season, Trocheck has 36 points (10 goals, 26 assists). He is in the fourth year of a six-year contract with a salary cap hit of $4.75 million.

The Panthers received NHL forwards Erik Haula and Lucas Wallmark, AHL forward Eetu Luostarinen and AHL defenseman Chase Priskie in return.

Haula, 28, has appeared in 41 games this season and has 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists).

Wallmark, 24, has appeared in 60 games this season and has 23 points (11 goals, 12 assists).

Luostarinen, 21, has appeared in eight NHL games this season and has one point.

Priskie, 23, has appeared in 52 AHL games this season and has 31 points (six goals, 25 assists).
