Another day, another top quarterback prospect meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

North Carolina quarterback Sam Howell is conducting a Top 30 visit Friday at the team’s UPMC Rooney Sports Complex facility.

On Thursday, Cincinnati’s Desmond Ridder visited with the Steelers.

The Steelers also hosted Clemson safety Nolan Turner on Friday.

A three-year starter for the Tar Heels, the 6-foot-1, 220-pound Howell passed for 10,283 yards, 92 touchdowns and 23 interceptions in 37 games, setting school records for passing yardage and touchdowns. As a junior in 2021, Howell also rushed for 828 yards and 11 touchdowns, displaying the type of mobility the Steelers are seeking in Ben Roethlisberger’s successor.

Howell and Ridder are viewed as being among the top five quarterbacks in this draft class. The Steelers also are scheduled to host Liberty’s Malik Willis and Mississippi’s Matt Corral. Pitt’s Kenny Pickett doesn’t count against the Top 30 limit because he is considered a local visitor.

Turner was a two-time captain during his six seasons at Clemson, and he totaled 13.5 tackles for loss, 20 pass breakups and seven interceptions in his career. He was not invited to the NFL Combine.
