Palmer Jackson shot a 3-over par 75 on Wednesday during the first round of the Southern Amateur in Carrolton, Texas. The Murrysville native and Notre Dame sophomore is tied for 45th.
Round two of the tournament is Thursday.
This is the start of three busy weeks for Jackson, who will play in the Sunnehanna Amateur next week and the Western Amateur the following week.
