Minor league report: Penguins snap 7-game losing streak
Two goals and two assists by forward Ty Glover led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to an 8-2 road win against the Bridgeport Islanders at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Conn. on Saturday.
Forwards Drake Caggiula and Nathan Legare each scored two goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (26-30-7-6) which snapped a seven-game losing streak while forward Valtteri Puustinen contributed three assists. Goaltender Taylor Gauthier made 25 saves on 27 shots in the victory.
Forward Sam Poulin, the Pittsburgh Penguins’ first-round pick (No. 21 overall) in 2019, was scratched from Saturday’s game as a planned maintenance day.
On Friday in a 3-1 road loss to the Providence Bruins, Poulin returned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton’s lineup following a four-month hiatus to address his mental health. His scratch on Saturday is part of his return-to-play plan per a team spokesperson.

Defenseman Sebastian Dirven and forward Matt Koopman each had a goal and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers who won their regular season home finale, 4-3, against the Fort Wayne Komets at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.
Goaltender Brad Barone made 33 saves on 36 shots for Wheeling (27-36-5-0) while forwards Tyler Drevitch and David Jankowski each contributed goals.
