Minor league report: Penguins extend winning streak to season-best 4 games

Defenseman P.O Joseph scored a goal for the third consecutive games and led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 4-3 home win against the Bridgeport Islanders at Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Friday.

Forward Sam Poulin recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (18-17-1-3) which extended a winning streak to a season-best four games while forwards Anthony Angello, Jan Drozg and Alexander Nylander each contributed a goal. Goaltender Tommy Nappier made 22 saves on 25 shots in the victory.

The Penguins’ next game is a home game against the Providence Bruins on Saturday, 6:05 p.m.

Forward Nick Hutchison has a goal and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers in a 3-1 home win against the Indy Fuel at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Goaltender Stefanos Lekkas made 24 saves on 25 shots for Wheeling (20-17-1-0) while forwards Cam Hausinger and Sean Josling each contributed goals.

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Iowa Heartlanders on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
