Minor league report: P.O Joseph scores again as Penguins snap losing streak

Defenseman P.O Joseph scored the game-winning goal for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 3-2 road win against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms at the PPL Center in Allentown on Saturday.

In his past seven games, Joseph has scored five goals.

Defenseman Taylor Fedun and forward Nathan Legare also scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (19-19-2-3) which snapped a three-game losing streak. Goaltender Tommy Nappier made 20 saves on 22 shots in the victory.

Highlights:

The Penguins’ next game is a road contest against the Charlotte Checkers on Tuesday, 7 p.m.

An overtime goal by forward Sean Josling gave the Wheeling Nailers a 4-3 home win against the Fort Wayne Komets at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Forward Nick Hutchison and defenseman Josh Maniscalco each had a goal and an assist for Wheeling (25-18-1) which has won four consecutive games while forward Patrick Watling contributed two assists. Goaltender Stefanos Lekkas made 26 saves on 29 shots in the victory.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Reading Royals on Feb. 19, 4 p.m.
