Minor league report: Nailers' winning streak snapped by Stingrays

Goaltender Shane Starrett made 25 saves on 27 shots for the Wheeling Nailers in a 3-2 home shootout loss to the South Carolina Stingrays at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va. on Friday.

The loss snapped a season-best three-game winning streak for Wheeling (14-23-5-1).

Defenseman Dylan MacPherson recorded two assists for the Nailers while forward Austin Fyten and defenseman Jesse Lees each scored goals in regulation for Wheeling.

The Nailers’ next game is a home contest against the Stingrays on Saturday, 7:10 p.m.
