Minor league report: Nailers beat Icemen

Forward Cody Sylvester had two goals and an assist for the Wheeling Nailers in a 5-3 home win against the Jacksonville Icemen at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling on Thursday.

Wheeling (11-23-5-0) also got a goal and an assist from forward Austin Fyten as well as three assists from forward Joshua Winquist. Goaltender Shane Starrett made 25 saves on 28 shots in the victory.

The Nailers’ next game is a road contest against the Indy Fuel on Saturday, 7:05 p.m.
