Mike Hilton expected to play vs. Jaguars after practicing for 3rd day in a row for Steelers
It’s full speed ahead for slot cornerback Mike Hilton, who is expected to return from a four-game absence Sunday when the Pittsburgh Steelers play the Jacksonville Jaguars at TIAA Bank Field.
Hilton practiced for a third consecutive day Friday and no longer is listed on the team’s official injury report. Defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs also was a full participant for the third day in a row after sitting out a game with an ankle injury.
The only players the Steelers have ruled out for the Jaguars game are running backs Jaylen Samuels and Trey Edmunds and outside linebacker Jayrone Elliott. Samuels injured a quadriceps muscle and Edmunds hurt in his hamstring last Sunday in the Steelers’ 36-10 victory against Cincinnati. Elliott has been sidelined all week because of illness.
Rookie running back Anthony McFarland also is cleared to play after missing the Bengals game because of an illness. McFarland practiced all three days this week.
A day after placing cornerback C.J. Henderson on injured reserve, the Jaguars ruled out two others players for the game against the Steelers: wide receiver Laviska Shenault (hamstring) and tight end James O’Shaughnessy (knee).
