Drake accepts the award for best rap song for “God’s Plan” at the 61st annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, in Los Angeles.

The Toronto Maple Leafs dropped Game 4 in their playoff series against the Boston Bruins on Wednesday night, losing 6-4. But was it the Bruins’ hard hitting, their solid goalie, or was it something else. Something sinister, something celebrity?

Some fans are wondering whether their team suffered from the “Drake Curse.”

Twitter user @TheLeafsSeason posted as much after the team’s loss:

The rapper was at Scotiabank Arena cheering in his hometown team and fans took to Twitter to lament their luck.

The Leafs are just the latest victim — the curse has struck several teams that Drake has cheered for either by attending a game or wearing a jersey.

It also happened to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the National Championship game this year, Serena Williams in the semifinals of the the U.S. Open in 2015, and Conor McGregor dropping a match against Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018 after Drake draped an Irish flag over himself in his support.

And then there is Drake’s favorite NBA team the Toronto Raptors. He’s been the team’s global ambassador since 2013 and though the team has had success they have never made the NBA Finals.

Earlier this week Italian soccer team Roma posted a tweet banning players from taking pictures with Drake.

No word on whether Drake will be in Boston for Game 5 of the series. (Or where else he might strike.)
