Long snapper Henry Searcy joined Pitt’s 2025 recruiting class after de-committing from Syracuse, he said in a social media post.

Searcy (6-foot-3, 180 pounds) committed to Syracuse on July 2 before informing coach Pat Narduzzi he flipped to Pitt. A rising senior at Chiles High School in Tallahassee, Fla., he also has a scholarship offer from Memphis.

Searcy told TribLive he changed his mind about Syracuse because he wanted to work under Pitt special teams coach Jacob Bronowski and learn from Panthers redshirt junior long snapper Nilay Upadhyayula.

“I heard that coach Bronowski is an amazing coach,” Searcy said. “Also I would be behind Nilay Upadhyayula. He is a great snapper that I can learn from. What most attracted me was how interactive the coaches were to me. They are really nice people. What they were saying to me about how they would develop me into the best is really what made me attracted to Pitt.”

Pitt’s 22-man class is ranked 34th in the nation and eighth in the ACC by Rivals.com.
