Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has settled a civil suit with his former personal trainer who accused him of sexually assaulting her.

ESPN first reported the settlement Wednesday between Brown and Britney Taylor, citing that terms will remain private because of an agreement between the two parties.

In a statement released by Taylor’s attorney, Davis Haas, he said, “Having reflected on their relationship, both feel that the time has come to move on. … Their dispute is resolved and they wish each other great continued success.”

Per the lawsuit, Taylor said Brown sexually assaulted her three times between 2017-18, when the wide receiver was still with the Steelers. Taylor filed her lawsuit in 2019, and Brown filed a countersuit for defamation and claiming she was hurting his chances of employment and gaining endorsement contracts.

The Steelers traded Brown to the Oakland Raiders in the 2019 offseason. On the eve of the season opener, the Raiders released Brown, who signed with the New England Patriots. When Taylor’s lawsuit was filed, the Patriots released Brown after one game, and he remained unemployed for the rest of that year.

The NFL investigated the situation and suspended Browns for the first half of the 2020 season, citing conduct detrimental to the league’s personal conduct policy. After serving his suspension, Brown joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and he contributed to the team’s run to the Super Bowl title.

Brown remains unsigned for 2021. Tampa Bay general manager Jason Licht told reporters that the Buccaneers remain interested in bringing back Brown, who turns 33 in July.

“We’ve had discussions throughout the offseason and you can tell we’ve put an emphasis on bringing back our players from last year that contributed to our success and he’d be no different,” Licht said. “We’ll continue to have talks and see where it goes.”
