Pirates reliever Kyle Crick exits the game after loading the bases during the eighth inning against the Braves Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, at PNC Park.

The Pittsburgh Pirates activated relief pitcher Kyle Crick to the roster Tuesday after he spent 11 days on the 10-day injured list with right triceps tightness.

Crick, who allowed no runs, hits or walks in two innings before being placed in the injured list, could help relieve some issues in the Pirates bullpen as the team starts a two-game series in Detroit. Rich Rodriguez has allowed four home runs and compiled a 6.75 ERA and Keone Kela has given up three homers with a 7.94 ERA.

To make room for Crick, the Pirates optioned infielder Kevin Kramer to Indianapolis.
