Katie Miller Gee won her third straight Pennsylvania Golf Association Mid-Amateur Championship Tuesday at Lancaster Country Club.

Katie Miller Gee wasn’t altogether sure what her golf life would be like after she became a mother for the first time.

Could she regain her balance, her form, her touch?

Moreover, could she win again?

Yes, yes, yes and — yes!

Miller Gee, the former Hempfield and North Carolina standout who coaches the Hempfield girls golf team, checked all of those boxes and took a trophy home to show her baby girl.

Eight-month-old Clara Gee could fit in the silver bowl Miller Gee won Tuesday for claiming her third straight Pennsylvania Mid-Amateur title. She again won in runaway fashion and won for the first time since becoming a mother.

Miller Gee, who plays out of Green Oaks Country Club, cruised to a 16-stroke victory to best a 16-player field at Lancaster Country Club.

She finished at 5-under-par 143, way ahead of Katrin — — — Wolfe of Northampton Country Club, who was second at 11-over.

Winning again wasn’t too much of a stretch, considering she played — and won — last year while she was six months pregnant.

“It kind of shows that you do need a lot of support. It takes a lot. It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a village to win a golf tournament,” Miller Gee, 37, told the Pennsylvania Golf Association. “I coach my high school’s golf team now, and for those girls to be able to see me compete after having a baby, it’s kind of cool.”

Staying with the theme, her mother, Terri Miller, carried her bag this week.

Miller Gee, who won by 10 shots last year, had eight birdies in Round 2 as she played aggressively but comfortably into reachable par 5s and hit fairways and greens with consistency.
