In revised spring training schedule, Pirates play 29 games in 31 days, 15 at LECOM Park
The Pittsburgh Pirates announced their revised spring training schedule, with 29 Grapefruit League games in 31 days starting with the opener on Sun., Feb. 28, at the Baltimore Orioles in Sarasota and the home opener on Tues., March 2, against the Detroit Tigers at LECOM Park.
The Pirates will play 15 home games, reduced from the original 17. All home games will start at 1:05 p.m., with the exception of a night game on Fri., March 19 against the Orioles that will start at 6:05 p.m.

Per MLB health and safety protocols during the covid-19 pandemic, the length of play at all spring games could be shortened, subject to both managers coming to agreement.
The Pirates also are planning to have a 25% capacity of seating available for fans.
