Hempfield alum Kason Harrell selected as all-star in Irish pro hoops league
Kason Harrell has proven he can play at the next level. He has become one of the most popular players in Ireland’s Super League.
On Friday, the former Hempfield and Fort Wayne star capped another productive season with an all-star nod.
Harrell, a second-year pro for Killester Basketball Club, was selected to the Super League first team, joining Aaron Calixte of Garvey’s Tralee Warriors, Andre Nation of Tradehouse Central Ballincollig, and Nils Sabata and Roy Downey of C&S Neptune.
Through 16 games, Harrell was leading the National League in scoring at 30.4 points, to go with 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals a game.
The 25-year-old guard was shooting 49% from the field.
Harrell had a 56-point game earlier in the season for Team Pyrobel, making 21 of 31 shots, including four 3-pointers, and 10 of 10 free throws, as Pyrobel defeated Garvey’s Warriors, 102-87.
Seton Hill alum Courtney Cecere was a Division I second-team all-star pick. She plays for the NUIG Mystics.
