Green Day drops several expletives during NHL All-Star performance
During their performance at the 2020 NHL All-Star on Saturday night, Green Day colored their songs with some not-so-family-friend language.
The band, which recently signed a two-year partnership deal with the league, was part of the weekend festivities in St. Louis.
Performing on the ice during the second intermission of the game, the band played a medley of their songs “Basket Case” and “American Idiot” with a few bombs thrown in.
“Get your [expletive] hands up in the air!” Armstrong yelled to the crowd during “Basket Case.” He also added “Let’s go [expletive] crazy!” to get the crowd going.
Thanks to a broadcast delay, the expletives were bleeped during the NBC broadcast, according to CNN.
But fans inside the Enterprise Center arena got the uncensored show. Billie Joe Armstrong and the band also played a set outside the arena before the game.
