The Pittsburgh Penguins’ postponement streak is almost as long as their winning streak.

On Tuesday, the NHL announced the Penguins’ road game against the Ottawa Senators on Friday was postponed. This was one of nine games in Canadian cities in the upcoming days that were postponed.

In a statement, the NHL cited “current attendance restrictions in certain Canadian cities” related to the pandemic as the reason for the postponements.

This is the fifth consecutive game the Penguins have had postponed. No makeup dates have been determined as of yet.

Currently on a seven-game winning streak, the Penguins have not played since a 3-2 road win against the New Jersey Devils on Dec. 19.

As of now, the Penguins’ next game is a home contest against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday.

In total, the NHL has postponed 80 games this season because of the pandemic. More are likely to come.

Follow the Penguins all season long.
