Last fall, Nate Leopold was breaking up passes, wrapping up running backs and earning all-conference accolades at John Carroll.
This summer, he is helping the Houston Texans prepare for the NFL season.
Leopold, a former Franklin Regional two-sport standout, is working as a team personnel assistant.
He initially had plans to intern with the Philadelphia Eagles, but a full-time opportunity emerged with Houston.
Although his job duties are vast and fluid, Leopold basically is helping to keep things organized on a tight schedule during training camp, working 15-hour days sometimes at the Houston Methodist Training Center, where the team camps.
A safety, Leopold was named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference First Team in his final collegiate season. He had 47 tackles, with three pass breakups and two interceptions.
