In seven games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins last season, forward Riley Barber has six points (three goals, three assists).

Former Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins forward Riley Barber has signed a two-year contract with the Detroit Red Wings. According to Cap Friendly, Barber’s deal carries a salary cap hit of $750,000 and is believed to be a two-way contract.

A native of Washington, Pa., Barber joined the Penguins organization after being traded by the Montreal Canadiens on Feb. 20. Primarily used as a top-six forward, Barber appeared in seven American Hockey League (AHL) games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and scored six points (three goals, three assists) before the AHL halted play in mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Having played only 12 NHL games during his six-year professional career, Barber, 26, will likely be assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins, the Red Wings’ AHL affiliate.
