In 11 AHL games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season, forward Graham Knott had no points.

Former Penguins prospect Graham Knott has signed a one-year ECHL contract with the Cincinnati Cyclones.

Knott, 23, spent time last season with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League (AHL) and Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.

In 11 AHL games as a member of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, he was held without a point. Appearing in 18 ECHL games with Wheeling, Knott had 14 points (six goals, eight assists).

The Penguins acquired Knott in a trade with the Chicago Blackhawks on Nov. 21, 2019. A second-round pick by Chicago (No. 54 overall) in 2015, Knott (6-foot-4, 195 pounds) completed the final year of his entry-level contract last season.

As the free agent-signing period approached, the Penguins opted to not extend Knott a qualifying offer and allowed him to become an unrestricted free agent.

Knott was one of the few remaining players who finished the 2019-20 season under an NHL contract with the Penguins still looking for work this offseason. Forwards Thomas Di Pauli, Adam Johnson, Kevin Roy and Conor Sheary remain unrestricted free agents.

The Cyclones are the ECHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres.

Follow the Penguins all season long.
