After losing guards Tavian Dunn-Martin and Jett Roesing to the NCAA transfer portal this week, Duquesne coach Keith Dambrot received a verbal commitment from 6-foot-7 forward Kevin Easley Jr., who played last season at TCU after transferring from Chattanooga.
During his redshirt sophomore season at TCU, he averaged 4.5 points and 3.7 rebounds while starting 13 of the 26 games in which he appeared. He scored 11 points against Texas on March 7.

A native of Indianapolis, he graduated from Lawrence North High School as a four-star prospect, the No. 35 small forward in the nation and the No. 6 player overall in Indiana, according to ESPN.
He initially enrolled at Chattanooga and was named Southern Conference Freshman of the Year after the 2018-19 season. He led Chattanooga in scoring (14.2 points per game), averaged 6.7 rebounds and shot 44.4% from the field and 39.7% from 3-point range. He set Chattanooga freshman records for points (412), rebounds (193) and 3-pointers (50) while scoring 20 or more points 22 times.
Dambrot has been busy this offseason restocking a roster that lost nine players who started the 2020-21 campaign with the team. The total includes center Michael Hughes, who was a starter as a senior last season and decided to turn pro. Also, starters Chad Baker, Marcus Weathers, Sincere Carry, Lamar Norman Jr. and Dunn-Martin are among eight players who have transferred or have announced their intention to do so. The list includes the Dukes’ six top scorers (72% of their total points) and reserves Ryan Murphy, Amari Kelly and Roesing.
Toby Okani, who averaged 4.7 points as a freshman last season, is the only returning starter.
Dambrot has received signed letters of intent from transfers Leon Ayers III (Mercer), Rodney Gunn Jr. (Lenoir-Rhyne) and Tre Williams (Indiana State), plus high school players Andy Barba, Jackie Johnson and Amir Spears.
