Dorin Dickerson talks to Mt. Lebanon head coach Bob Palko after the PIAA Class 6A state championship game against St. Joseph’s Prep on Dec. 11, 2021, at Hersheypark Stadium.

For the first time since the retirement of Pittsburgh sports radio personality Jim Colony last January, “The Fan Morning Show” has a permanent trio of co-hosts.

Former NFL player and Pitt star tight end Dorin Dickerson is joining Colin Dunlap and Chris Mack as a regular host of the weekday 5:45-10 a.m. show beginning Aug. 1, station owner Audacy Pittsburgh announced Tuesday.

Dickerson said he’s excited about his new on-air role.

“I didn’t know what my purpose was after I retired from the NFL,” said Dickerson. “Five years ago, I found myself sitting in the 93.7 The Fan studio doing a three-hour show and immediately fell in love with sports radio. I plan to bring positive energy, experience and fun to the ‘The Fan Morning Show.’ I can’t wait.”

Dickerson was a High School All-American and Pennsylvania Player of the Year in 2005 at West Allegheny. He went on to become a first-team All-American tight end at Pitt in 2009 and was a seventh-round draft pick of the NFL’s Houston Texans in 2010.

In all, Dickerson played six seasons in the NFL, including stints with the Steelers, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills and Tennessee Titans. He joined the radio station in February 2017 as an on-air personality, working mainly on weekends.

“It is always great to see someone grow within our organization, and through his time in various roles with us, Dorin has truly developed into a host who can entertain on topics well beyond the field,” said Michael Spacciapolli, vice-president and market manager of Audacy Pittsburgh.

“As a former All-American at Pitt and NFL player, Dorin has a perspective that our listeners truly appreciate and we are extremely excited to welcome his thoughts on the sports world and all things Pittsburgh to ‘The Fan Morning Show’ every day.”
