In “First Call” on Monday, the Watt brothers latch onto National Siblings Day. One of them speaks out for snubbed Steelers star Cam Heyward. Another national voice pipes up about the Jameis Winston-to-Pittsburgh talk. And an update on the socially distanced NFL Draft.

Friday was National Siblings Day. With so much time on our hands thanks to the stay-in-place orders across the country, many of us took to the internet to embarrass our brothers and sisters — and ourselves — with some old-fashioned, throwback photos to the days of our youth.

Few captured the moment like the NFL’s Watt brothers.

Houston Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt got the ball rolling with this keeper, featuring himself and his brothers, T.J. and Derek of the Steelers.

Then T.J. went into the vacation files for this beauty.

J.J. couldn’t let that one pass without a comment.

Neither could Derek.

And if you looked a further down J.J.’s thread you noticed him sticking up for one of his brothers’ teammates: Cam Heyward.

The Steelers defensive lineman was left off the NFL’s All-Decade Team last week. And Heyward was none too happy about it.

J.J. Watt seems to think Heyward had a right to be angry over the snub.

That’s a pretty good endorsement for Heyward.

Elsewhere in First Call

• Yet another NFL media voice is lending credence to the idea that the Steelers may be a good fit for free-agent quarterback Jameis Winston. It’s Peter King of “Football Morning in America.” But he’s also naming a few other potential destinations. One of them is the New England Patriots.

Winston recently posted a workout video with longtime trainer, Otis Leverette. The hope is to catch the eyes of teams who may be in the market for a new QB.

Well, the video caught the eyes of a few former quarterbacks now in the media business — David Carr and Danny Kanell. And they were sniping about the effectiveness of the drill.

• The NFL’s covid-19-induced online draft is going to take place April 23-25. And it appears Roger Goodell is quite literally going to be making the picks from his basement.

• LeSean McCoy insists he’s not done with the NFL yet. After finishing last season as a reserve for the Kansas City Chiefs, “Shady” is now a free agent. He’s 31. But the former Pitt star running back tells Sirius XM NFL Radio that he’s talking to “a couple of teams” and wants to play at least two more years.

• If Tom Hanks was the celebrity “patient zero” for the coronavirus crisis, then Utah Jazz player Rudy Gobert played that role in the sports world.

And he was famously dismissive and cavalier about the threat prior to his diagnosis.

Star teammate Donovan Mitchell later tested positive. And Gobert’s attitude reportedly angered Mitchell. But now Gobert is insisting those two have patched up their relationship.
