First Call: Schooner crash, great onside kick, Duquesne running back pushes the pile
We start Monday with a “First Call” featuring a Sooner Schooner skid. One of the toughest runs you’ll ever see. And a creative onside kick.
Oh, those onside kicks
Onside kicks are getting fun again.
Cam Sutton made a great play on one for the Steelers last week in Los Angeles. The Buffalo Bills returned one for a touchdown Sunday against the Miami Dolphins. And check out this gem from the Ohio University Bobcats Saturday.
Tied at 24 in the second quarter, Ohio kicker Michael Farkas booted the ball right off the head of Kent State wide receiver Isaac Vance.

Apparently, that was on purpose and Farkas has done this before.
This Michael Farkas kickoff went viral. First, it is intentional. Second, it’s the third time in the last two seasons he’s pulled it off https://t.co/ytXsXwh8E8 via @deadspin

Ohio went on to win 45-38. “MACtion” at its finest.
Coming in hot
Not much went wrong for the Oklahoma Sooners during their football game Saturday. They pounded West Virginia, 52-14.
As far as the pregame, though? Eh, that got a little dicey for the Oklahoma Sooner Schooner.

Does it make me a horrible person that my first reaction when I saw that was, “Are the horses ok?”
It probably does. But it turns out they were fine. As were the humans.
Bye-bye Booth
Clemson freshman Andrew Booth threw a punch during the Tigers’ 45-10 win against Louisville Saturday.
He got ejected for it.

And if that wasn’t enough, head coach Dabo Swinney exacted some supplemental discipline of his own.
While the rest of the team flew home from the game, Swinney forced the freshman to ride the manager’s bus back home. That’s a seven-hour trip.
Kapelmaster the Colonial
Robert Morris goalie Justin Kapelmaster continued his standout start to his Colonials career this weekend.
The Ferris State transfer pitched a 43-save shutout Sunday in West Point against Army. RMU won 3-0.
After stopping 109-of-112 shots to start his season, Kapelmaster dropped a 4-1 decision to the Black Knights on Saturday. But he bounced back effectively in the second half of the series.
RMU is now 3-1 in Atlantic Hockey Association play. They are 3-3 overall.
Move the pile!
Duquesne running back A.J. Hines is a bowling ball.
With 4,271 yards under his belt in his career on the Bluff, the 225-pound senior has picked up some yardage after contact.
But maybe not like this.

Take another look at that run against Sacred Heart Saturday.
It went for 22 yards. But that pile started at the 37. Hines didn’t go down until the 24. So Hines moved the whole pile 13 yards before he went down.
Hines wound up with 142 yards. Duquesne won 20-6.
