Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin speaks to the media on Nov. 5, 2019 at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.

It takes a lot to make people smile these days, given the covid-19 shutdown.

So credit TribLive’s Chris Benson for coming up with a way to make that happen.

He developed this fantastic coronavirus shut-in timewaster.

Hit play. Then, whenever you hit pause, that is the one Pittsburgh icon you will be quarantined with during the shut-in for as long as it lasts.

I bet you even the bird would’ve held out for at least one major leaguer in return for Starling Marte.

By the square. That assures “cost certainty.”

I will say this for the Nutting and the Pirates, though. They have stepped up this week during the coronavirus crisis. They did buy all those pizzas for the hospital workers. And they kicked in some cash for the local food bank.

Good for management and the players for helping out there. So let’s pick on somebody else for a change.

You know what that means, right? The first few months of your quarantine are going to be awesome!

But if that lasts into June… uh oh.

Of course not. That’s bad social distancing.

If the shutdown gets to a Game 7, you are in great shape.

The conversation may be minimal, yet somehow entertaining. Maybe Geno can graduate from “I am score” to “I am vaccination.”

That’s a win for you! He’d agitate the coronavirus so much it’d just leave.

Is the “next man up” allowed out of his own house any time soon?

Only if he brings the costumes.

That’s true. Ain’t no party, like a Sally covid-19 party.
