In Tuesday’s “First Call,” San Francisco is really enjoying beating up Baker Mayfield. Charlie Morton continues to shine in the MLB playoffs. And we see — um — a unique football formation.
Sweet, sweet revenge
Back when Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was at Oklahoma, he made waves by planting his school’s flag on the turf at Ohio Stadium after his Sooners beat the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Nick Bosa (from Ohio State) just sacked Baker Mayfield (from Oklahoma) and celebrated by pretending to wave a giant flag and stick it into the ground.

OSU product Nick Bosa seems to have been harboring some resentment over that for a while. Because when the San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman sacked Mayfield Monday night, he mimicked the flag plant.

Mayfield was sacked four times on the night. San Francisco won 31-3. They improved to 4-0. The Browns fell to 2-3. Cleveland next has to play the Seattle Seahawks (4-1) and the New England Patriots (5-0).
More Baker bashing
Bosa wasn’t the only one piling on Mayfield. Richard Sherman ripped him after the game, too.
The 49ers cornerback was upset that Mayfield wouldn’t shake hands during the pregame coin toss. “That’s some college s—-. It’s ridiculous,” Sherman said via NFL.com. “We’re all trying to get psyched up, but shaking hands with your opponent — that’s NFL etiquette. And when you pull bush league stuff, that’s disrespectful to the game.”
Sherman lecturing someone on etiquette is ironic. But he’s not wrong.
“There’s no reason for him to say and do those things, especially given how little he’s accomplished,” Sherman said of Mayfield. “That’s where he’s gonna have to grow up. He might get there, but he has a long way to go.”
He’s not wrong there either.

Landing the split was the most impressive part. Who would do that job for the Steelers? Who would replicate that kid?
Zach Banner as the extra tight end? Maybe bring Tyson Alualu over from defense again? They seem fascinated with Johnny Holton and Ryan Switzer. How about trying one of those guys?
