Ex-Penguins forward Colton Sceviour gets tryout with Oilers
Former Penguins forward Colton Sceviour will attend the Edmonton Oilers’ training camp on a tryout basis.
On Wednesday, the veteran winger signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
After arriving via trade in September of 2020, Sceviour, a native of Red Deer, Alberta, appeared in 46 games for the Penguins during the 2020-21 season and scored 10 points (five goals, five assists) while largely inhabiting a bottom-six role.
He was a healthy scratch for all six of the Penguins’ games last postseason.
A veteran of 10 seasons, Sceviour, 32, has also played for the Dallas Stars and Florida Panthers.
Minor league defenseman Jesper Lindgren is the only player who finished the 2020-21 season under NHL contract to the Penguins who remains unsigned.
