Pittsburgh Riverhounds forward Babcar Diene (27) congratulates teammate Edward Kizza (19) on his goal against Birmingham Legion FC on Saturday.

Edward Kizza scored goals, Eric Dick recorded another shutout and coach Bob Lilley recorded a milestone win as the Pittsburgh Riverhounds rolled to a 3-0 road victory over Birmingham Legion FC on Saturday night.

The win was critical for the Riverhounds (7-9-10), who stayed within three points of Loudoun and Rhode Island, who are tied for the final two playoff spots in the USL Championship Eastern Conference standings. The Hounds also moved within four points of sixth-place Birmingham (10-10-5).

Lilley recorded his 400th career win in his 24th season, the most among active professional coaches in the U.S.

Dick collected his 10th shutout of the season, making a pair of point-blank saves on Birmingham’s Enzo Martinez.

Kizza made it 1-0 in the 34th minute when he made a run into the box and redirected in a cross from Babacar Diene from the left side into the roof of the net.

Five minutes later, Danny Griffin sent a cross in from the right side that eluded Birmingham defenders and landed on Kizza’s foot in front of the cage for his seventh goal of the season.

On a free kick from just outside the penalty area in the 84th minute, Kenardo Forbes found Emmanuel Johnson in front to make it 3-0.

The Hounds hit the road again next weekend, visiting the Indy Eleven at 7 p.m. Saturday.
