The opener is at Toledo on Aug. 31, followed by a trip to Boston College on Sept. 7. The road trip concludes at Youngstown State on Sept. 14. Toledo and Boston College will be the 10th and 11th FBS opponents in program history, marking the fifth season and third in a row with two FBS games on the schedule.
This season will be the second time in program history that Duquesne will start a season against consecutive FBS teams. The only other time marked a historic occasion when the Dukes dropped the 2021 opener at TCU before defeatng Ohio, 28-26, the only all-time FBS victory by an Northeast Conference program.
The home opener will be Sept. 21 against West Virginia Wesleyan, a Division II member of the Mountain East Conference.
Duquesne’s NEC title defense will begin at Rooney Field on Oct. 5 against LIU. After visits to Saint Francis (Pa.) on Oct. 12 and Stonehill on Oct. 26, Duquesne will play three consecutive home games against former NEC foe Sacred Heart on Nov. 2, Robert Morris on Nov. 9 and Wagner on Nov. 16.
The regular season concludes Nov. 23 at Central Connecticut State.
Duquesne has a winning all-time record against seven teams on its schedule — with the exceptions of first-time opponents Toledo and Boston College — and two the Dukes never have defeated, Youngstown State and Stonehill.
