David DeCastro misses 1st week of Steelers OTAs due to birth of child
The Pittsburgh Steelers had near-perfect attendance for the first week of organized team activities.
Almost every player was on hand to either participate in the first three days of voluntary workouts or receive treatment at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex.
One notable exception was All-Pro guard David DeCastro, who had a good reason for being absent the first three days.
DeCastro and his wife, Bonnie, recently became parents for the second time.
“He just had a baby girl,” teammate Ramon Foster said Thursday.
David and Bonnie DeCastro’s first child, a daughter named Brooke, was born in October 2017.
After a break for the Memorial Day weekend, OTAs resume for the Steelers on Tuesday.
