Anthony Amato singled and tripled, and Blue Mountain breezed to a 10-0 victory Tuesday in the Pennsylvania Little League 8-10 state championship tournament at West Point.
The Blue Mountain squad broke the game open with a seven-run fourth inning to end the game.
Amato was the winning pitcher. Landon Clemas doubled for the winners.
Kayd Caskey and Blake Stauffer had hits for St. Marys.
Morrisville 4, Newton 3 — Gavin Reilly had two hits including a double and drove in the winning run for Morrisville in the fifth inning. Wes Esteves had a triple for Newton.
Will Szablewski was the winning pitcher while Nick Schiller was tagged with the loss.
Newton was leading 3-0 before Morrisville tied the score with a three-run fourth inning on three hits.
Abington 14, West Side 4 — Abington pounded out 14 hits, including two each by Patrick Donahue, Shane Goldberg and Jake Kwietkowski, in a 10-run win against West Side. Donahue had a triple and Max Vazquez doubled for Abington. Liam Sherwood doubled for West Side.
Abington broke the game open with a six-run second inning.
Hermitage 6, Somerset 3 — Jordan Bochert had a game-winning hit in the top of the seventh inning to highlight a three-run inning and lift Hermitage to an extra inning victory. Johnny Kudelka had two hits including a double for Hermitage.
Somerset tied the score with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Will Geisel picked up the win in relief.
Here’s a look at Wednesday’s schedule: St. Marys plays Newton at 11 a.m.; West Side faces Somerset at 1:30 p.m.; Morrisville battles Blue Mountain at 4 p.m.; and Hermitage meets Abington at 6:30 p.m.
