Robert Morris played a catch-up game for the entire night Thursday at Oakland and dropped its second straight Horizon League men’s basketball decision.

Blake Lampman scored 20 of his game-high 26 points in the first half, and the Golden Grizzlies went on to an 87-72 victory over the Colonials in Rochester, Mich.

Markeese Hastings recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Robert Morris. Justice Williams led the Colonials with 18 points.

Lampman made 8 of 13 3-point shots and scored 26 points to lead Oakland (14-9, 9-3). Lampman, who scored Oakland’s first 12 points and 14 of its first 16, shot 9 for 14 overall.

Jack Gohkle scored 19 points and Trey Townsend chipped in 11 for the Golden Grizzlies, who led by as many as 17 points in the first half before Robert Morris used a 7-0 run to trail 40-30 at halftime.

Stephaun Walker added 12 points and Jackson Last finished with 11 for the Colonials, who fell behind in the second half by 20 points (59-39) and never recovered.

They rallied within 70-62 on a 3-pointer by Williams with 4 minute, 48 seconds left but could get no closer.

The teams finished even in rebounding at 35 apiece. RMU outscored Oakland in the paint 40-24.

Robert Morris wraps up a three-game road trip Saturday at winless Detroit Mercy (0-23). The Colonials, who began the trip with a 66-64 loss Sunday at Cleveland State, defeated the Titans, 102-99 in double overtime, on Jan. 17 at UPMC Events Center.
