Browns' Baker Mayfield, Odell Beckham Jr. active — but not productive — vs. Steelers
Even if they did not end up producing much, the Cleveland Browns had all of their offensive stars active for Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field.
Quarterback Baker Mayfield (ribs) and wide receivers Odell Beckham Jr. (illness) and Jarvis Landry (hip/ribs) each suited up after being listed as questionable Friday. Mayfield threw two interceptions and passes for just 119 yards before being pulled during the third quarter of the Steelers’ 38-7 win.
Beckham had two catches for 25 yards and Landry three receptions for 40 yards. Beckham was ill and missed practice time this past week.
For the Steelers, wide receiver Deon Cain made his season debut after being promoted from the practice squad Saturday. He took the spot of Diontae Johnson, who was ruled out Friday with a back injury.
Rookie Kevin Dotson made his second start at right guard in place of David DeCastro, who sat out because of an abdominal injury. Dotson also started the Week 2 game against Denver.
Also inactive for the Steelers were No. 3 quarterback Joshua Dobbs, tight end Zach Gentry, inside linebacker Ulysees Gilbert III and defensive lineman Carlos Davis.
Fullback Derek Watt and safety/linebacker Marcus Allen played a week after sitting out against the Philadelphia Eagles because of injuries.
The Browns inactives were safeties Ronnie Harrison Jr. and Karl Joseph, guard Wyatt Teller, linebacker Jacob Phillips and defensive ends Joe Jackson and Vincent Taylor.
Sheldrick Redwine started at safety for the Browns, and former Steelers lineman Chris Hubbard filled in for Teller at right guard.
