Letter to the editor: Zelenak will help seniors
What does state Rep. Leslie Rossi have against seniors? She has consistently voted against legislation that would help older adults, even when her fellow Republicans vote in favor.
She’s against cost-of-living adjustments for Pennsylvania public employees (HB 1416); against creating an Alzheimer’s office to help seniors with dementia (HB 2400); against providing tools for financial institutions to protect seniors against exploitation (HB 2064).
She even voted against making the Pennsylvania Department of Health improve its communications with the state’s nursing homes (HB 1853).
In contrast, Margie Zelenak, Rossi’s opponent in the upcoming election, has spent her career advocating for seniors in Harrisburg and Washington, D.C. Currently, she serves on the governor’s Long-Term Care Council that facilitated development of the 10-year strategic plan, Aging Our Way, PA.
Who do you want to represent you? A genuine voice for seniors or a representative who just votes “no” to senior needs and concerns?
