Letter to the editor: What covid, Trump have cost us

The caveman mentality that “I’m the boss and I’ll do what I want” is how many people are thinking. Mask and social distancing requirements have made adults act like children.

So many lies about the vaccines have frightened people. Bring on the death and suffering caused by the stupidity of those listening to conspiracies and lies.

The Supreme Court seems poised to end legal abortion. Women will be punished for getting pregnant. Will women be put in jail for not going through with unwanted pregnancies? Will they have the right to put babies up for adoption? Will they get welfare money for raising unwanted children? Will deadbeat daddies not have to pay for their children? Is the government going to build orphanages for unadopted children? Taxes are going to have to be raised, Christians!

We may soon have a dictatorship instead of a democracy. Gerrymandering, voter suppression, governors changing the outcomes of elections and messing with the Electoral College is not who we are as a nation.

Thanks to Donald Trump, the great troublemaker, we are fighting, dying and shooting each other. He’s got others doing his dirty work now. Look at what he has gotten away with. I’d rather have Jesus as my hero.
