Letter to the editor: We'd be foolish to elect Harris

An open letter to Kamala Harris:

In your public statements since being appointed a candidate for president, you’ve stated your values haven’t changed, and that you would create opportunity for all Americans. Further, you’ve stated you were generally the last person in the room counseling President Biden on decisions that, in my opinion, have been horrific for all Americans, including:

• Declaring war on fossil fuels (gas and oil products), which dramatically increased their prices.

• Allowing prices of everyday items to increase unabated. How has that created opportunity?

• Shirking your assignment to control our borders with catastrophic effects, such as allowing over 10 million immigrants, including rapists, murderers and thieves, to invade and make shambles of our cities and requiring America to feed, clothe, house, educate and provide medical care for many of them far better than for our veterans who have sacrificed so much for our nation.

• Supporting the Green New Deal and mandating electric vehicles with scant planning of the electric grid.

• Allowing our national debt to skyrocket to unsustainable levels and weakening the American dollar.

• Selecting a radical running mate who has visited China over 30 times. I think he went there to learn about communism.

• Perhaps worst of all, weakening America and greatly increasing the danger of a third World War.

With all this as background, you expect the American people to be foolish enough to elect you as our president? I believe Americans prefer as president a businessman who has demonstrated that he can solve problems, not create more of them.
