Letter to the editor: We the people not Wolf's priorities
During the covid-19 pandemic, how many businesses shut down, never to open again, because of Gov. Tom Wolf’s decisions? I wanted to buy a truck, but could not go to a dealership because they had to shut down. It would have been me and one salesman. Down the street were stores where a hundred people were shopping or working. He picked and chose for no reason.
Now, he has given $40 million to four state-related universities. Why? Tuition keeps going up. And when my son went to college, I was hit with all kinds of hidden fees. We got a cable TV bill even though my son had no TV. I got another bill to pay for the rental of an auditorium where he took a test. Did Wolf not read the news stories about Penn State and other colleges having billions in offshore accounts? Or is he helping them get to a trillion? And how much is in his offshore account?
What about homeless children, women and veterans, food banks hurting, Meals on Wheels groups closing and senior citizens going back to work to make ends meet? We can plainly see what’s important to him. And is not we the people.
I hope our next governor is more for the people. Being an independent, I will watch closely and, hopefully, pick the right man. Hope we get away from strictly party lines, greed and lying and get back to common sense.
